New watercolour work for BA Textiles

Random musings from last week in South west france. Fields full of sun flowers. Just beautiful. All will go towards assignment 5 watercolour for my BA in textiles.

Veggie patch musings....

Due to having acquired a garden 5 his year.....i now have a vegetable patch. Let's just say the veg produce is rather characterful! Thus I am finding it very inspirational. I began with some simple sketches...and then converted these into fabric...All based on a fabric manipulation theme. I used cottons to make a book to hold my finished pieces. And attached my drawings to the front of the book. As seen.

Heat distressable materials...such as voiles were used to create the veg; as I wanted to blast areas with my heat gun. This was to show off layers and create frilly edges.

I think I'm addicted to this veg theme!

As you can see in the pictures; onions, tomatoes, carrots and lettace all seen.

Customs house workshop....letters survived in stitch. 26th July 2014

Interesting workshop today. During this season of memory; students gathered together precious letters and photos that were personal to them. We then worked towards printing these onto fabric and creating stitched pieces.

Lots of prints created; and plenty for students to try at home too!

More workshops coming up at customs house...next one:

30th August 2014 Nuno felting.
