The Girl Who wanted Wings

This is my most recent creation, based on a Peter Pan like character, such as Wendy Darling.  This girl has great aspirations, and when a Peter Pan like character comes to whisk her away one night, she hopes her “pillow wings” will help her fly.

She comes, donned in her old fashioned style night dress and knickers; with long flowing blonde hair, made from pure merino wool.  I have kept her face make-up simple, as in my eyes she is a child still.  Slippers made from leatherette, wool and silk have been added to finish her.

One last element I added was a doll and hand made leather book, with tea stained pages!  I thought these elements could create a sense of childhood.....

The Torn Umbrella Girl

This is my Torn Umbrella Girl

She is based on a poem and watercolour illustation that I did quite a few years ago.

She is made in my normal style; a cloth body and hand felted/embroidered hands, feet and head.

All clothes are removable, including a cashmere green coat!

I have also made a heat distressed wire and material umbrella.....

She will feature at my exhibition at 'HEART GALLERY' in Hebdon Bridge, Yorkshire in May 2012

The Girl and the Golden Pea

Inspired by the Hans tale, The Princess and the Pea....this girl, instead of finding a pea in her bed, has lost one in her skirt!

Made in the same way as my other cloth dolls; she has a hand felted head with embroidery, and hand felted hands and feet.  Her body is stuffed cloth.  All my own design and patterns etc.

She will feature in my ucoming exhibition at 'Heart Gallery' in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, UK in May....
